An individualized music lesson for one adult.
Flute, Clarinet, Trumpet, Trombone, Guitar, Ukulele, and mixed percussion available.
Bring your friend and have twice the fun while splitting the cost!
Drop-ins, first timers, and "never played before"s all welcome. Group lessons are a low-pressure, high-comedy, low-cost way to explore music in a group of likeminded new musicians.

If you're here, you already know you want to start music lessons. You have your dream instrument saved to your bookmarks bar while the one you got at a garage sale holds out for the time being. Maybe you've tried to figure it out yourself online and hit a dead end.
But can you really pull it off? How much pressure is there? Why'd you click to read more instead of just scheduling your first lesson already? Adult beginners, in my opinion, are held back by three main things:
1. Myth
2. Self doubt
3. Technical Jargon
Let's unpack that!
Current research indicates that humans do have a music aptitude that is solidified around age 9. HOWEVER that aptitude mostly indicates extremes- the ability to hear very fine levels of musical differences or complete lack of musical exposure in early childhood. Maybe some musical styles will be outside of your comfort zone, maybe you will struggle at first to improvise and compose... However...
IT IS NOT "EASIER" TO LEARN MUSIC AS A CHILD THAN IT IS AS AN ADULT.
You're an adult. That means you have fine motor control. You know what it means to practice. You have goals in mind for what level of musicianship you want to achieve.
And I will help you get there!
I'll keep this one short and sweet. Adult beginner musicians are typically very hard on themselves.
Stop it.
My specialty as an educator has always been scaffolding and individualizing lessons. I love to learn how others learn so I can teach them in the best way possible. As an instructor of children, I know where all those knowledge gaps might be in an adult's ability and can help you train them up and feel confident in your artistic vision.
No experience? No problem.
Yes, you will learn music theory. No, it will not make you want to rip your hair out.
