How?

Our music studio utilizes research-based methodologies from First Steps in Music, MLT Music Play, and Conversational Solfege. Porter holds professional certification in these methodologies and has been practicing them for over 10 years. They have witnessed many young musicians grow through this process into confident, thoughtful people.

But does my child belong here?

It is easy to say "YES!! YES OF COURSE EVERY CHILD IS WELCOME HERE!!"

And while that is true, it is also true that people learn best from teachers who work well with their personalities. After teaching thousands of students, I know get along with most everybody, but certain types of students tend to say they learn best from me.

Is your child full of energy, unstoppable, and maybe a little bit stubborn? So am I... We will get along.

Is your child a little businessperson and delights in correcting people or finding the most optimized way to do things? I'd love to hear their ideas and help them share in class!

Is your child always making noise and asking how and why things are the way they are? Send them here to come investigate. Tell them to bring me their favorite fun facts.

Does your child take a while to warm up to people, maybe needs a little slowness and understanding? Don't we all need patience sometimes. I've got you.
